about us

A little about 11:13 Ministries, a 501c3 non-profit organization

We believe the story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-37 gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.” Since our inception in 2020, 11 13 Ministries has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the poor, hungry, sick, homebound, health fragile, and suffering in our community. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people with food, shelter, clothing, medical equipment, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, gives us an opportunity to share the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life with and through Jesus Christ.

As we engage the underserved, and often unseen, in our community, people often ask, “Why do you do this for me? ” The answer is always the same: “We have come to help you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Our ministry is all about Jesus—first, last, and always. As the Apostle Paul said, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5, NIV).

No matter where we go or what we do, we offer more than help. We offer hope. To suffering people in a broken world, we share the news of the only One who can bring true peace—

Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

During 2021, our communities were faced with unprecedented crisis and uncertainty. COVID 19 caused shifts in daily norms and routines that changed the shape of our reality. However, people harnessed a resilience to unite with others and provide support. Boundaries disappeared and our partners rose up with collective compassion and the understanding that, together, we can overcome this challenge. That spirit of shared empathy and generosity was evident every day of 2021…and continued thru 2022. Driven by your generosity, 11:13 Ministries was able to effectively reduce the impact of shelter and food insecurity among some of the most vulnerable in seven area communities. We’re profoundly grateful for what we’ve been able to do in 2022 with your support.

We measure success by: the increased well-being of our meal recipients, how satisfied they are with their life as a whole; the increase in the number of individual donors and volunteer hours…both factors that indicate increased awareness and engagement by the local community; the expressed increase in awareness and knowledge of the God of the Bible by the people we serve.

We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in the communities around us with food, emergency shelter, emotional support, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. No matter where we go or what we do, we offer more than help. We offer hope, and dignity, to people struggling in a circumstance where they feel they have no value. We remind them they are precious to God and, therefore, precious to us. We strive to be an instrument of God’s love to those He loves.

It’s one thing to know God loves us and provides for our needs, but it’s another thing to see it in action. From food…to volunteers…to drivers….to donors, we always have enough to meet the need even as that need has increased by more than 30% in 2022. God has brought us more opportunities for ministry. God has showered His blessings on us in 2022 and we look forward to serving Him as He leads us in 2023.

We serve with profound gratitude to honor God in all that we do, for His glory!

Thank you for being with us on this journey.

In Him, for His purpose.

By God’s Grace Mobile Meals has been a true blessing to those we serve every other Saturday. We are currently assembling and delivering over 580 meals every other week. This is a huge undertaking by Larry and the volunteers.

Not only does By God’s Grace Mobile Meals provide two nutritious, delicious meals to our recipients, but it also is a way to show that they are though of and cared for. It is a harsh realization that many come to at a certain age that they are no longer able to do what they used to and also hard for them to accept help. That is where the great volunteers of By God’s Grace Mobile Meals come into play. It is the kind-hearted, caring individuals that have made this program shine that step forward to give the recipients a warm smile or kind word and show they care.

The volunteers are vested in the program and through Larry’s servant leadership we have built a great working crew and fellowship that is beyond words. We are forever grateful for their time, talents, and energy that they have given to build By God’s Grace Mobile Meals.

I met Larry roughly two years ago when he stared preparing and delivering meals on weekends for 11:13 Ministries, By God’s Grace Mobile Meals. As a volunteer for Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center, I was asked to help deliver and was happy to help out our community even more. My only thought was, can my kids help? My youngest daughter was out of school because of the pandemic, and wasn’t able to do much or go anywhere.

We start out only delivering, but soon grew into serving and helping in more ways than just delivering. We have helped almost every weekend that meals have been prepared. My youngest daughter has thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet new people and help the new volunteers.

I am very grateful for the new friends I have made. I am thankful that my kids enjoy giving back and helping the community. Being able to make sure that someone has a hot meal and a quick check in on the weekend is very rewarding. This experience has truly been one of a kind. Larry has shown us all what we should do to help our community, especially in a time of need.
